Hi folks,
I recently lost my Samsung TV remote, and it’s driving me nuts! I’m thinking about getting a universal remote, but I’m not sure how complicated the setup is. Has anyone here tried setting one up for a Samsung TV? Also, I heard there are ways to turn on the TV without a remote at all — maybe with buttons on the TV or something else? Would love some tips or personal experiences!

Hey! Yeah, I went through the same thing a few months ago when my Samsung remote broke. Setting up a universal remote is actually not as hard as it sounds, but it depends on the model. Most universal remotes come with a code list for Samsung TVs, or you can do an automatic code search. What helped me a lot was first making sure the TV had power, even without the remote — sometimes you can press a hidden button on the TV itself to turn it on. If you want a step-by-step guide on turning on your Samsung TV without the remote before you set up the universal remote, this article was super useful: turn on Samsung TV without remote . It explains where the power button usually is and other quick hacks like using a smartphone app as a temporary remote. Once the TV was on, programming the universal remote became straightforward. The key tip I can give is to have patience during the code search phase — some codes don’t work, so you just have to keep trying. Also, keep in mind that some universal remotes might not support all TV functions perfectly, but basic controls like power, volume, and channel usually work great.

I might give this a try next time my remote acts up or goes missing!
