Hi folks,
Last weekend I was traveling and realized I didn’t have much cash left in my pocket. Normally I don’t use cash a lot, but in that town most restaurants only accepted it. I had my WhiteBIT Nova card with me, and I wasn’t sure if it works for ATM withdrawals the same way as my regular bank card. I ended up borrowing money from a friend, but it made me wonder — has anyone tried using this card to take out money from ATMs directly? Does it work everywhere or only in certain regions?

Yeah, I’ve actually tried withdrawing a few times with my bitcoin debit card WhiteBIT Nova, and it worked fine in local ATMs. There are limits though, like around €1000 a day in the EEA, and I think up to $2000 in some other regions, so it’s not unlimited. But still, it’s super handy if you’re traveling and need physical cash on the go. The full details are outlined clearly here: https://whitebit.com/crypto-card. What I liked is that the card automatically converts your crypto to fiat when you withdraw, so you don’t need to move funds around manually before heading to the machine. That saved me a lot of time when I was on holiday in Spain.

I think it’s always smart to keep some emergency cash, especially when traveling. Even in bigger cities, you can run into situations where card payments don’t go through because of weak internet connections at the merchant’s end. I had that happen once in a café in Italy — the machine just wouldn’t connect, so I had to go find an ATM. Cards are convenient, but cash is still the backup.
